REVIEW: Keune Bond Fusion Phase 3

The best hair treatment for busy girls with thirsty locks

If you read my review of Perth hair salon Tao of Hair, you’ll probably remember raving me swooning over how soft my hair felt when I left. That was thanks to Keune’s Bond Fusion line.

Long story short, the Bond Fusion line claims to repair and rebuild broken bonds, with Keune saying that “tresses are left twice as strong compared to chemically processed hair without Bond Fusion.”

Keune does this through 3 steps:

  • Phase 1: ‘Bond Builder’ – is mixed up with your colour in the salon to repair broken bonds and create new ones while protecting the hair.
  • Phase 2: ‘Bond Enhancer’ – a restorative and nourishing treatment that’ll strengthen the newly-created bonds.
  • Phase 3: ‘Bond Recharger’ – a leave-in treatment that prolongs the effect of the whole Bond Fusion treatment at home.

So I was mega grateful when Keune and Tao of Hair gave me a bottle of Bond Fusion Phase 3 to take home.

One week later I went to use it and was surprised that you apply the cream to towel dried hair before shampooing, which is different from any other hair treatment I’ve used before. This is all well and good if you’re in the salon at the basin having just had Phase 2 washed out, but when you’re at home you need to dampen your hair.

So I cupped my hands and splashed water from the tap through my hair, then slicked on Phase 3 and left it on for the at least five minutes as instructed – FYI I get the same results when I left it on for up to 20 minutes.

I really liked that you have to apply this mask before washing your hair as I’m a real girl on the go, so it meant I could get on with other jobs while it was doing its thang instead of standing in the shower watching my bathroom steam up.

When you wash it out, your hair doesn’t feel silky smooth like it usually would with a hydrating hair mask. Instead, the Bond Fusion Phase 3 treatment shows its results when your hair is dry.

Once I’d finished styling my hair, it felt beautifully soft and Phase 3 also reduced my frizz, making it look healthier too.

I’d highly recommend this mask for anyone with damaged/colour treated hair, or girls who are just busy and need a 5-10 minute shower instead of a 10-15. Phase 3 is available from Keune stockists for $29.95.
