Beautiful balms and butters to nourish your lips naturally
Whether you’re coming into summer or winter, keeping your lips protected and hydrated through the rain and shine is a must.
If you’re after a lip balm with SPF, a hint of colour or an organic formula, these lip balms back got your back. I mean lips; they’ve got your lips (nailed it)…
Palmers Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm with SPF15
Let’s kick things off with a bargain, because everyone loves a bargain. For just $3.69, you can pick up Palmers Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm, which is a lush little stick of pure cocoa butter that will keep your lips incredibly hydrated.
I used this stick religiously last summer (the one photographed is brand new as the label wore off) as it also contains SPF15, so I made sure I always had it in my handbag or beach bag during the summer to protect my lips from the sun and windy ol’ Perth.
I also love the oval stick because it makes mimics the shape of your lips for a neater application.
Natralus Paw Paw Coconut Lip Butter
Natralus Australia have introduced four paw paw lip butters that leave your lips hydrated with a natural sheen. Each one is enriched with a sweet formula of Shea butter and Vitamin E, then infused with the subtle taste of either coconut, cacao butter, honey and vanilla or strawberry.
The coconut one is my favourite from the four, as it takes me back to summer for a split second until the cold wind whirls me back to reality.
While I love the formula, I’m not a fan of squeezy tubes and if you use too much the butter just gets moved around the plastic tip, sticks are quicker and easier to slick on.
Dusty Girls “Argyle Pink” Natural Mineral Lip Shine
If you’re after a hint of colour, Dusty Girls’ Natural Mineral Lip Shine contains caesalpinia sappan bark extract, which gives this a pretty pink shimmer:
Other awesome ingredients are Apricot Seed Oil, Watermelon Seed Oil and Sweet Almond Oil, so your lips feel as good as they look.
I love tinted lip balms as they’re basically low maintenance lipsticks that brighten up your lips with a hint of colour, with no need for lip liners or precise application.
People for Plants Pomegranate & Seabuckthorn Organic Lip Balm
After something organic? People for Plants’ lip balm is probably my favourite of all four because it drenches your lips with hydration using naturally organic actives.
This anti-oxidant rich lip balm from People for Plants may look like a fairly solid stick, but as soon as it touches your lips it melts beautifully like butter.
