REVIEW: Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

From work to play, this foundation will stay all day

If you’re after a long lasting foundation, oof do I have a hero for you, Honey!

You’ve probably heard of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation, but you’re here because you want to know if it’s worth forking out $50+ for.

Hells yeah it is! And here’s why…

Estee Lauder Double Wear review

Estee Lauder Double Wear Desert Beige

My first bottle of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation found its way into my make-up bag a few years ago after a dab of online research, and a swipe of seduction from the Estée Lauder counter.

I’d tried a fair few foundations that all promised good coverage and to last all day, but none seemed to stand the test of time. They either went patchy or just dissolved after about 6 hours.

To see if the raving reviews were true, I visited the Estée Lauder counter in Debenhams (a British department store), and let the make-up artist blend and buff my perfect colour match into my skin.

I didn’t want to buy it there and then because for all I knew it would wear off by lunch time, but ermahgerd it stayed perfect all day and night!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I can apply Double Wear in the morning and I’ll still have good coverage by the evening. Because it’s a more heavy duty foundation, the coverage is medium to full, but it blends into the skin easily with barely any streaks.

When it comes to removing it at the end of the day, my first thought was Christ, I’m going to need paint stripper to get it off, but my cleanser washed it off with ease.

As for the shade I use, when I was living in the UK I was the pale neutral shade Ecru, but I’ve now gone up a shade to Desert Beige #lifegoals.

Here are a few more reasons why I love Estée Lauder’s Double Wear:

  • Contains SPF 10
  • Blends into the skin beautifully
  • They have shades to match all skin tones, including neutral shades for people like me who have neither pink nor yellow undertones
  • A little goes a long way
  • Makes your skin look flawless

Have you ever tried any of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear cosmetics? What’s your favourite foundation?
