3 Stylish Evening Looks for Winter

The trends I’m in love with and why you should be too

Ladies, it’s time to pack up your maxi dresses, hide the hotpants and flick off your flip flops; winter is coming.

But all is not lost, as winter clothes are far more stylish than summer, and to prove it, here are three of my favourite looks that will make you look smoking hot through the colder months.

Look 1: Leather Leggings

Now before you get horrific flashbacks of Ross from Friends, hear me out. Leather leggings look super stylish if you do two things right:

  1. Don’t buy cheap ones – you may as well wrap bin bags around your legs.
  2. Wear a top that covers your booty – even if you’re the squat queen, we don’t need to see your cheeks hugged in leather.

I absolutely adore my faux leather leggings from Tobi. I’d been searching for a pair of leather-look leggings for a couple of months, and was never happy as most of them look really cheap and I wanted a pair with the biker style lines across the thighs.

So I felt like I’d struck gold when I found these bad boys because they were exactly what I wanted and they’re really comfy once you’ve got yourself into them – top tip: don’t put them on when you’re sweating.

Boots: Next (old, similar here)

Necklace: Tiffany & Co

Look 2: Winter Playsuit

For those of you who haven’t been to Perth, it’s windy AF. Playsuits are a necessity if you don’t want to wear a maxi or bodycon dress, clutch your floaty mini dress whenever you’re outside, or if you value your dignity.

During winter I need sleeves as I freeze easily and prefer dark colours rather than floral summery prints. This silky black playsuit is perfect with its fluted sleeves and tie neck detail, but at 5ft 7″ I wouldn’t want to be any taller as it can be a little cheeky.

Tie Neck Playsuit: Tobi

Shoes: London Rebel (old, similar here)

Watch: John Taylor

Bangle: The Peach Box

Bag: Calvin Klein

Look 3: Over the Knee Boots

I want so many pairs of OTK boots, but so far I only have this pair from Billini. They’re super comfy, keep my toes toasty and never fail to elevate an outfit.

Over the Knee Boots: Billini

Shift Dress: Tobi

Necklace: River Island (old, similar here)

Bag: Michael Kors

While putting this feature together I was gifted several pieces from Tobi, who I had never ordered from before. I’ve been really impressed with the quality and sizing of this LA brand and Tobi now offers free shipping for all orders to Australia! So check them out as they often have 50% off their gorgeous clothing!

Those are the three trends I’ll be loving this winter. What are your favourite looks?
