REVIEW: Nak Aromas Curl Serum

For rock and roll curls worthy of the 80s

Calling all curly-haired wannabes: my love affair with Nak hair products has just grown stronger, as their Aromas Curl Serum has weaved its way onto my favourites list for creating kick-arse curls.

If you’re one of my regular readers you’ll know I adore Nak products as they’re sulphate free, paraben free, vegan, affordable and, most importantly, they work!

BUT, before we get started I have to confess that my hair is naturally wavy and curls easily, so I was off to a good start.

Nak’s Aromas Curl Serum is clear, fairly thick and has a beautiful musky fragrance I can’t get enough of.

I apply a pump and a half on my fine hair once it has been towel dried, blow dry it to about 70% (it contains heat protector too), then leave it to dry naturally.

I wash my hair at night, so after it’s had a bit of pillow love and dried completely, I wake up with lots of thin, tighter waves instead of my usual handful of loose waves. Plus little or no frizz!

Because Curl Serum makes my hair go a bit Beyonce on my arse, I lightly glide my straighteners over my locks to calm the curls down. Doing this gives me the soft, loose curls I’m after, which is a happy medium between my natural style and the ones Curl Serum gives me.

Although Nak’s Curl Serum has the consistency of a gel, it’s very light and doesn’t weigh your hair down. It’s perfect for fine haired females like me, but if you’ve got a thicker mane, you may need to use two or more pumps.

Have you tried this products or any from Nak? Or if you’ve got naturally straight hair and get great results too, I’d love to know!
