Lipstick of the Month: Dreamweaver

One of the new metallic lip colours from Gerard Cosmetics

It’s officially the silly season, and I can’t think of a more perfect month for an out-there lipstick!

I’m not the most daring gal when it comes to lip colours , but when I saw the new Metal Matte Liquid Lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics, I just HAD to try one!

If you read my review of Gerard Cosmetics’ Hydra Matte Lipstick Serenity, you’ll know I’m a big fan of their long-lasting, non-drying formulas. Plus metallics are so hot RN.

I bought the shade Dreamweaver, which Beauty Bay describes as a ‘bronzed burnt orange’, and which I describe as a peachy gold. Creative aren’t I?

In true Gerard Cosmetics fashion, the colour stays on well and doesn’t dry the lips out. Plus it smells so goddam incredible, kinda like toffee ice-cream.

But the best thing about Dreamweaver is that it’s versatile.

If you don’t fancy wearing it on it’s own, it’s perfect for creating ombre lips or layering over other shades to give a metallic finish. I love a light coat over Serentiy to create a subtle rose gold finish…

This shade has a slight streaky finish because of the light-reflecting pigments. To prevent this, all you need to do is apply one coat normally, then apply another thin one in downward strokes immediately after – these formulas dry fast!

Another con is that it takes so long for Gerard Cosmetics to reach us here in Australia. We’re always waiting 2-6 weeks depending on whether you order from Beauty Bay or GC.com.

Now go forth and sparkle through Christmas and NYE (unless you’re in Australia, you can expect to be sparkling around end of Jan if you order now)!

Happy Christmas!
