REVIEW: Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil

The brow pencil with precision application

A few months ago I felt like one lucky lady, as I was invited to Benefit’s Brows on Tour event in Perth.

If you’re one of my regular readers, you probably know by now that I LOVE Benefit products. If you’re not one of my regular readers, I LOVE Benefit products.

I also love beautiful brows; and since realising how crap I am at grooming my own brows and getting them transformed by Rachel Ranger, I’ve styled them more carefully.

So this event was pretty perfect for me, especially as we were given a couple of their new products to try at home. One of these products was Benefit’s newbie Precisely, My Brow (I use Shade 2), an ultra-fine eyebrow pencil and currently my favourite brow product!

So here’s why I love it…

  • The fine pencil creates a far more natural finish than gels or thick, pigmented pencils
  • The creamy pencil formula stays perfect all day
  • It’s incredibly easy to use due to the fine tip
  • There are many different shades to match your colouring and all are buildable
  • The twist top means you don’t have to faff with a sharpener every other day
  • Flip the pencil 180 and you’ll find a handy spoolie brush to fluff up your brows and comb the colour through evenly

How to apply Precisely, My Brow

During the Brows on Tour event we were taught to apply Precisely, My Brow in short fine strokes to mimic eyebrow hairs. I do this most of the time, but several times I’ve been in a rush to colour in my brows and have used it like a two-year-old armed with a crayon.

To be honest, both techniques give pretty much the same result, with the hasty approach giving a slightly darker coverage and neater edges.

Overall

Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow is ideal for girls like me who have fairly thick eyebrows, but need a few gaps filled in, your arches sharpened or your tails elongated.

If you have sparse brows and require more coverage, give Goof Proof a go, as this is pretty much the same but has a thicker crayon.

Have you tried any of Benefit’s new brow products? Or do you have any eyebrow products you swear by? Let me know in the comment box!
