REVIEW: Nak Aromas Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner

Banish brassy tones with some nourishing purple power

The bane of every unnatural blonde is brassy tones streaking down your once perfect platinum locks.

Some hair is more prone to yellow tones than others, and I get them about 6 weeks after I’ve highlighted my hair.

When that started happening about 4 weeks ago, I began using Nak’s Aromas Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner.

The Aromas Blonde range is designed for frequent use (I used it 3 times a week), and promises to neutralise brassy tones while conditioning your hair with argan oil.

The duo are also sulphate free, paraben free and vegan friendly, which is a real bonus as I’ve become more conscious of the ingredients in my hair products.

The Shampoo

While Nak’s Aromas Blonde Shampoo gently cleanses the hair, it gets to work neutralising unwanted brassy tones with its deep purple pigments.

When I worked in a salon as a teen, I was taught to shampoo my hair twice – the first time to clean the hair, the second time to allow the shampoo to do what it says (in this case, brighten my blonde).

Nak’s Aromas Blonde Shampoo is a runny deep purple liquid and doesn’t look like it would lather up nicely, but it does on both washes and you don’t even need to use that much. It also smells gorgeous from the argan oil.

The Conditioner

After you’ve cleansed and toned, it’s time to moisturise.

Nak’s Aromas Blonde Conditioner has the same argan oil scent, but has a very different look and feel as it’s a thick lavender cream.

I leave the conditioner on for 1-2 minutes to give the ingredients time to nourish my hair from root to tip and lift any gold tones the shampoo may have missed.

The Results

I’ve tried a fair few blonde shampoos and conditioners over the years, but have found that the every day-ers don’t work and the once a week-ers are good but quite drying on my hair.

However, Nak’s range has worked a treat and I noticed results after about 3 washes.

The argan oil has left my hair soft and healthy, while the purple pigments have knocked out any yellow tones to keep my blonde looking and feeling fresh until my next dose of bleach.

I also really love the square bottles because they look good on your shelf and don’t go horrible and squeezed when you’re running out!

Give it a go fellow blondes, you won’t be disappointed.
