On Wednesdays we wear pink

Pretty pastel pinks to brighten up your complexion

Ok I know it’s Thursday, but I wrote this on Wednesday and I love Mean Girls. K?

Pale pinks are playing a key role in the latest beauty trend for nudes and naturals.

There are tonnes of cosmetics on the market to give you that fresh skin look, whether you want a radiant glow in Australia, or a frost-bitten flush anywhere else! Here are a few favourites that I’ve had a love affair with for years or just a few weeks…

Pale pink makeup

Benefit pink makeup

1. Benefit High Beam

High Beam has been one of my favourite products for years! I love how it can give you killer cheekbones in just a few dots. You can also dot in the middle of your cupids bow or over your brow bone to sclupt those areas too. Check out my post to on 4 ways to wear High Beam to see what else it can do!

2. Benefit Dandelion Blush

Dandelion is a beautiful ballerina pink that leaves your cheeks gently flushed. Ideal for spring particularly, this blush has a buildable pigment, so you can go from a light salmon pink to a deeper shade of rose.

3. Benefit Creaseless Cream in RSVP

Last Benefit product, I promise! Benefit’s RSVP is a pearly pink eye cream that lasts ages and is a fantastic base for a variety of powder eye shadows. I like sweeping this over my whole lid, then layering a pinky beige powder in the outer corners, finishing with a dot of white in the inner corner. You look instantly more awake!

4. Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Minimalist

Maybelline’s Colour Drama Lip Pencils are non-drying, pigment rich and long lasting. I find some lip crayons too chunky, but this pencil is the perfect size so you don’t need to use lip liner. Happy days!

5. Essie Nail Polish in Team and Crumpets

This is my all time favourite nail polish! Essie’s Tea and Crumpets is the closest colour I’ve found to rose gold (that doesn’t have a horrible copper undertone). Its metallic finish means it barely streaks so you can even get away with one coat if you’re rushed for time. As for longevity, I’m really not the best person to tell you how chip resistant nail polish is because I have a habit of picking it off a day or even a couple of hours later when I’m at work! Although it’s not on their website, I buy mine from Priceline.

6. Curtis Collection Glam Lipstick in First Love

I love the lipsticks by Curtis Collection! The formulas are long lasting, moisturising and you can feel the luxury in the packaging too. First Love is a beautiful shade of icy pink/rose gold and the name reminds me of my teenage years when I began my love affair with lipstick with similar shades of pink. It has a gorgeous metallic shimmer too, making it perfect for work or play, but especially gorgeous on balmy summer nights.

7. Bourjois Happy Light

If you need a little radiance boost, Bourjois’s Happy Light is all over illuminator. Wear it on its own for a dewy glow, or blend it in with your foundation for a little I’m-not-really-hungover help.
