6 products to help a hangover

Skincare essentials that will make you feel a little more human

Wine and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship: I love wine, wine hates me. Wine likes to remind me of this relationship the morning after a cracking night together, by giving me a pounding headache, red eyes and the feeling that I ate sand for dinner.

Thankfully the beauty industry has come to our rescue when it comes to hangovers, and with the silly season in full swing, here are a few skincare products that help me buff and soothe away the night before…

1. Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

You probably didn’t do a cracking job of taking your makeup off last night, so start by washing away the grime with Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish. This plant-based cream gently cleans your skin, before you wipe it off with an exfoliating muslin cloth. This leaves your skin soft, cleansed and hydrated.

2. Buddy Green Tea Body Scrub

Your body will be feeling pretty dehydrated, so down a pint of water and step into the shower with Buddy’s Green Tea Body Scrub. Packed with green tea, coconut oil, jojoba and grape seed oil, this divine smelling scrub buffs away any dirt or dregs of fake tan, while hydrating and softening your skin. Sounds like a mate to me!

3. Liz Earle Eye Bright

Eye Bright is one of those products you don’t realise you need until you try it. Apply it to a cotton pad and sweep it over your bleary eyes to remove dirt, and let the botanical ingredients refresh your poor peepers.

4. Organique Touch Cranberry Algae Face Mask

The tell-tale red cheeks can be kissed goodbye with Organique Touch’s algae face mask. The cranberry mask is for dry and sensitive skin and is packed with anti-oxidants. These masks take 15 minutes to set, so sit back and sip some water while it calms your inflamed skin.

5. Zassni Botanical Face Mist

This babe is an absolute face sensation! The best way I can describe it is by calling it cucumber in a bottle. Spritz it on to instantly cool, refresh and hydrate your skin, and because of it’s moisturising formula you won’t get that dry feeling or feel the need to moisturise after.

6. Carmex Lip balm

While the water gets to work rehydrating your body, slick on some Carmex lip balm to soothe your parched lips. This limited edition leopard print pot is really hard to find these days, but the formula is the same as the Carmex lip balms that are available all over the place. This one just shows your wild side, you party animal you!
