From futuristic prints to timeless designs, here’s what WA has to offer the fashion scene
Last Friday night the Whipper Snapper Distillery in East Perth was transformed from a whisky and coffee bar into a runway show. This was for the WA Born fashion show, organised by Fox Feet and Colosoul Group as part of the 2015 Telstra Perth Fashion Festival’s Cultural Program (did you get all that?).
WA Born was hosted by Channel 9 New’s Jerrie Demasi, who looked absolutely beautiful in a white grecian Natalie Rolt jumpsuit (although she wouldn’t move her clipboard down so I couldn’t get a great shot!)
Natalie Rolt’s collection was my favourite of the night. Her glamorous gowns were created with white fabrics (I’m not a print kinda gal), elegant cuts and unique modern styles, which is exactly what I look for in occasionwear. Natalie was one of many talented designers; here are some other standout pieces from the talented Perth fashion pool…

As well as supporting local talent and animal rights, it was also a great excuse for cocktails and cake with other Perth bloggers…

I have been so impressed with the collections from WA Born. Perth’s fashion scene has come on in leaps and bounds in the short space of time I’ve been here, with local boutiques and online stores rivalling the recent and ever-popular H&M, Topshop and Zara stores. Not only was WA Born fantastic for supporting young and emerging WA designers, the $20 tickets also raised funds for animal conservation in collaboration with Perth Zoo.
Did you go to WA Born? What was your favourite collection?
