REVIEW: S.W Basics of Brooklyn Cream Moisturiser

 Three ingredients, one heavenly result

My skin is one fussy bitch. She knows exactly what she wants from a moisturiser: natural and highly hydrating. If I don’t give her this she won’t hesitate to flare up, so the pressure is on when trying a new moisturiser – oh the woes of beauty blogging!
I came across S.W. Basics of Brooklyn’s Cream while scouring Beauty Bay‘s hydrating moisturiser section. I’d never heard of the brand before but the reviews were fantastic and it sounded just what my skin desired, so I popped a small 20ml pot into my basket to try.

S.W. Basics of Brooklyn’s Cream  is made of just three ingredients: Fair Trade Shea butter, organic coconut oil and organic olive oil. This gives it a far thicker consistency, thicker than any moisturiser I’ve tried before. It’s more like a paste, but this consistency gets thinner when it’s warmer (that’s probably down to the coconut oil) and I love putting it on after a shower because the heat of your skin melts it into your cheeks.

I love the high quantity of Shea butter in the Cream. Not only does it make it smell like a little pot of vanilla custard, it’s sooo hydrating. My skin hasn’t been red or had dry patches once, however the oils do leave your skin looking a bit, well, oily, so I’d only recommend it for sensitive, dry and very dry skin only.

Finally, I love that it comes in a travel sized pot, as it would be perfect for a long haul flight or for hydrating your skin after a day in the sun. Although I think I’ll be buying the larger size next time!
