REVIEW: Vani-T’s Mineral Lipstick in Screen Siren

Moisturising minerals and long lasting colour; what more could you want?

No girl’s make up kit is complete without a red lipstick – or in my case, 8 red lipsticks. Choosing the right shade for your complexion can be hard, but finding the right formula is harder, which is why I have to tell you about Vani-T’s Mineral Lip Colour ($33.95).

I got in a sexy shade called Screen Siren, which comes out much darker than what it looks online and on the base of the glamorous case. I’ve wanted to blog about this lipstick for ages, but with a work trip overseas, Christmas, working extra hours and building a house, I’ve just not had the time!

It was on that work trip I spent some quality time with this lippy, and really fell in love with it. It was a cold November day in Dublin and I had to tell hundreds of investors, media and tech enthusiasts about a new social media app called Kojai. I needed a lipstick that wouldn’t crack, flake or fade – there’s nothing worse than chatting away to someone oblivious you have drag queen lips. And Vani-T’s lipstick was there for me all the way.

The creamy mineral formula glides on incredibly smoothly, so lip liner is a must as it can be easy to go over the edges. It has quite a wet, shiny finish and as I prefer matte, I like to blot it with my finger which also gives it extra staying power (image below is without blotting).

I chatted, ate and drank from 8am until 1am. Thanks to the vitamin E, coconut oil and aloe extract, my lips never dried out and had to reapply just four times!

But don’t think its staying power will mean an extra hour in the bathroom scrubbing it off. It swipes off so easily with lipstick removers such as Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing WaterGarnier_Cleansing_Micellar_Lotion_400ml_1389086279

or The Body Shop’s Camomile Eye and Lip Make-up Remover.
